Purpose of the Position: The IWS Maintenance Specialist will support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the company’s Management System at their factory in Richards Bay. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency by assisting in the alignment of people, processes, and technology, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to standardized workflows.
Key Performance Areas:
System Implementation Support
Assist in deploying IWS methodologies across various departments.
Ensure compliance with established Maintenance Management Systems / IWS standards and procedures.
Process Analysis and Optimization
Analyse existing workflows to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with teams to implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Identifying and executing projects to enhance operational reliability.
Supporting teams in failure investigation and root cause analysis.
Compiling statistics and conducting Pareto analyses for equipment failures and planned downtimes.
Adopting a proactive approach to holistically addressing emerging challenges.
Driving initiatives to optimize costs and enhance the availability of machinery, equipment, and technological systems.
Training and Development
Conduct training sessions to educate staff on IWS principles and best practices.
Provide ongoing support to teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring
Collect and analyse data to assess the effectiveness of implemented systems.
Prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of IWS processes
Support the Management System Lead in coordinating improvement projects and initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
BTech / BSc degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Lean / Six Sigma qualification advantageous.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in implementing Integrated Work Systems (IWS).
Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement practices.
Familiarity with tools like Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Experienced in maintenance strategies and systems with strong focus on breakdown elimination.

Training Abilities: Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops.
Communication Skills: Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
