The Company Our client is a well-established, global industry leader and manufacturer of building materials. They service the Residential and Commercial Building, Mining, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing and Infrastructure sectors around Australia and the world.

The Role Your primary responsibility will be calling on major clients within the Residential & Commercial Building and Major Infrastructure sectors. This includes Tier 1-3 Residential & Commercial Builders, Developers and Tunnel & Basement Works Contractors.
You will specialise in one area of our clients extensive product portfolio - Waterproofing & Liquid Membranes. Key market applications areas for their product include basements, tunnels, balconies, bathrooms, kitchens etc.
This role involves engaging with stakeholders on building sites across Melbourne. You will build rapport with key clients, with a heavy presence on-site in order to oversee the installation process and provide technical information and/or demonstrations if needed.
Due to their proactive approach to the market and extensive product range, our client actively promotes cross-selling. Therefore, you will need to have expert sales skills in order to execute the sales of your specific product portfolio, whilst also being able to effectively on-sell the wider range as required.
You will be provided with full product training, working closely with the Specification Consultant who will act as the first point of contact and pass on leads to you during the sales process.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in Melbourne across the Residential, Commercial and Major Infrastructure sectors
Business development and account management of Tier 1 clientele
Specialise in one product area, whilst also having knowledge of their wider product portfolio in order to effectively on-sell where required
On-Site project involvement
Increasing market penetration, market share, and coverage.
Assisting in preparing project proposals
Identifying new business opportunities in construction markets.
Providing product specifications, demonstrations, and after-sales service
Record sales activity, customer interactions and quotations in Salesforce CRM
Conducting regular site visits and field trial material testing.
Issuing technical information/advice
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven track record of success in a similar sales role
Existing relationships with Builders, Developers and/or Major Contractors
Experience in Waterproofing or adjacent industries is highly desired
Building Materials / Construction sales experience is a must
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders
Willingness to learn and develop technical product knowledge
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work autonomously
Ability to specialise in one area of a wide product range
Ability to understand a wider product portfolio and effectively on-sell as required
