Vic Injury Management Advisor

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and Allied Health-qualified Injury Management Advisor to join a dynamic and values-driven team in Victoria.

This 2-year fixed-term role focuses on implementing and managing proactive injury management strategies that support early recovery and sustainable return-to-work outcomes across multiple sites.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to reduce the impact of workplace injuries and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing. This role will oversee the Victorian region and will require regular travel to sites across Melbourne’s west and north to provide hands-on support to line and senior leaders in driving improved return-to-work performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of workers’ compensation claims across Victoria.
  • Develop and execute effective injury management and return-to-work strategies.
  • Create and support graded return-to-work plans for complex injuries and guide managers on suitable duties.
  • Coordinate and participate in case conferences with injured workers and treating practitioners.
  • Deliver training for line managers on early intervention and rehabilitation best practices.
  • Actively manage healthcare and occupational rehabilitation providers to ensure effective treatment pathways and cost control.
  • Conduct Job Task Analysis for key roles.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce medical and associated injury costs.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in injury management or return-to-work roles.
  • Strong understanding of relevant rehabilitation and return-to-work legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex or serious injury claims.
  • Proven ability to coach and train leaders on rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.
  • Experience supporting injury prevention strategies and facilitating sustainable recovery.
  • Occupational First Aid Certificate (preferred).
  • RTW Coordinator Certificate.
  • Current driver's licence.
