Phillip Riley, a specialist recruiter in the renewable energy sector, is working on behalf of a leading global energy company to find an experienced Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to drive large-scale wind and solar projects from feasibility to Final Investment Decision (FID) and play a key role in Australia's clean energy transition.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Development Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of renewable energy by:

• Leading Feasibility & Due Diligence – Conducting in-depth studies to ensure projects are commercially and technically viable.
• Driving Project Strategy & Execution – Managing project planning, procurement, environmental approvals, and grid connection studies with internal teams.
• Building Stakeholder Partnerships – Engaging with regulators, landowners, communities, and government bodies to secure project support and maintain social licence.
• Navigating Policy & Regulation – Keeping ahead of renewable energy policies and regulatory frameworks at federal, state, and local levels.
• Delivering Results – Defining project delivery plans, mitigating risks, and ensuring projects meet key milestones.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated project developer who can take initiative and mentor junior team members. Ideally, you have:
✅ A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Science, or Law.
✅ 5+ years of experience in the energy sector (wind farm development preferred).
✅ Strong knowledge of project management, the Australian Energy Market, and regulatory approvals.
✅ Excellent commercial and financial acumen to drive projects forward.
✅ Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
✅ The ability to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
✅ Full professional proficiency in English.
✅ Based in Sydney (preferred).
