Signalling Design Engineers – Rail Infrastructure

A leading global engineering consultancy is seeking experienced Signalling Design Engineers to join their team in Brisbane. This role focuses on delivering advanced signalling solutions for major rail infrastructure projects across Australia, with a particular emphasis on European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the design and implementation of complex signalling systems for large-scale rail projects.
  • Provide expert technical advice on ETCS Level 2 systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing and new signalling infrastructures.
  • Develop and review technical designs, specifications, and requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and third-party vendors, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with signalling systems, ensuring operational safety and reliability.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers within the team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in railway signalling design engineering and maintenance of signalling systems.
  • Proven expertise in ETCS Level 2 system design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of signalling principles, systems, and technologies, including interlocking systems and various train control systems.
  • Mandatory: Level 2 or Level 3 Queensland Rail (QR) Competency and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status.
  • Strong understanding of Australian rail standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
