MJD Recruitment is excited to be working with a prestigious global law firm based in Sydney CBD. The firm is searching for an experienced Legal Assistant to join its growing Corporate team. The Role:

In this role, you will be supporting 2 Partners and their team, in a high-performing Corporate M&A team who are described as being social, close-knit knit and supportive.


You will be proficient in the following responsibilities:
  • Drafting and amending legal correspondence and presentations - non-disclosure agreements, cost agreements, drafting cover letters for advice or contracts, contract amendments or schedules, ASIC forms and company registration documents, formatting client presentations and pitch materials
  • Inbox, email, and correspondence management– Prioritise and organise key communications
  • File management– Opening new matters, conflict checks, maintaining, closin,g and archiving file,s both e-filing and hard copy
  • Billing and timesheet input– End-of-month billing, client & WIP reporting, timesheets, and expenses
  • Diary and travel management– Coordinate diaries, scheduling internal and external meetings, coordinating availability across multiple time zones, monitoring and updating calendars regularly to avoid clashes, and organising travel nationally and internationally, creating itineraries
  • Client and stakeholder communication– Liaise with clients, lawyers, counsel, barristers, etc.
  • Event coordination– Assist with planning client functions, team events, preparing and distributing event materials or presentations, liaising with Business Development teams to support client-focused events or seminars
Do you have the following skillset?
  • 3 + years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within Corporate law; however, all areas of law will be considered
  • Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in e-filing, expenses & billing systems– Experience with legal software is an advantage (iManage, Elite 3E, Aderant, Affinity, Chrome River)
  • Highly skilled in MS Office, with advanced formatting capabilities in Word, and confident use of PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent attention to detail & ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines
