We are currently seeking a People Relations Advisor to join our Corporate Services team at GEGAC in Bairnsdale. This is an exciting ongoing opportunity for a proactive and emotionally intelligent HR professional to support the delivery of quality People Relations functions across a dynamic and culturally significant organisation.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Services, the People Relations Advisor plays a key role in supporting and advising staff and managers across all areas of human resources and employee relations. This includes recruitment and retention, workforce planning, performance management, compliance, industrial relations, and the management of HR systems.
Key Responsibilities - Provide advice and support on policies, performance management, and employment matters.
- Coordinate and support recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
- Assist with workforce planning and professional development activity.
- Interpret and apply relevant industrial awards and employment legislation.
- Manage GEGAC’s HRIS and payroll function, including use of Employment Hero.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development to ensure compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Foster a safe and culturally sensitive work environment in alignment with GEGAC values.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a relevant business/management discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of employee and industrial relations, including interpreting awards.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in supporting an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
Requirements - Current Driver’s Licence.
- Valid Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check.
