Pay range: $60.00 - 75.00 p/h ex super
Join a high-performing team delivering grants and program support that impacts national outcomes. Use your project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills to support programs across their full lifecycle—design, delivery, and evaluation.
As an APS6 Senior Programs Officer, you will manage grants and contribute to a range of projects, supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full spectrum of grants administration while mentoring junior staff and driving process improvement.
Ideal for someone with strong communication skills, policy knowledge, and the ability to manage complex, deadline-driven tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Support and manage grant activities across design, application, and delivery stages.
Interpret and apply policies, procedures, and legislation consistently.
Draft high-quality reports, policy briefings, and correspondence.
Provide advice to stakeholders, including handling complaints and appeals.
Mentor and supervise junior staff, supporting development and team cohesion.
Coordinate and monitor budgets, financial tracking, and reporting.
Use grants systems (e.g. RMS) and internal platforms to manage tasks.
Lead or support business improvement and innovation initiatives.
Experience managing grants, programs, or projects within government or similar settings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detail and clarity.
High-level organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to engage and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Confidence in interpreting policy and applying it in a practical context.
Familiarity with grants management systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
Experience supporting innovation or change in government processes.
Familiarity with recordkeeping systems such as TRIM or similar.
Ability to present complex information in a structured, evidence-based format.
Capability to lead or contribute to internal reviews, policy updates, or compliance tracking.
