Registrar - Nashville, TN
The Registrar is responsible for the leadership, management, and oversight of all functions related to student academic records, registration, course scheduling, and institutional compliance with academic policies and regulations. This role ensures accuracy, integrity, and security of student records while supporting the mission and goals of the institution. The Registrar works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement policies and systems that enhance student success and institutional effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Office of the Registrar.
- Maintain the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of all student academic records in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Manage course registration, grading, transcript services, degree audits, and certification of student enrollment and graduation.
- Oversee the creation and publication of the academic calendar, catalog, and course schedule.
- Collaborate with academic leadership to implement and enforce academic policies and procedures.
- Supervise and train staff in registration, records management, and customer service.
- Implement technology solutions and process improvements to streamline registrar functions.
- Provide reports and data analysis to senior leadership, accreditation bodies, and external agencies as required.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including federal, state, and accreditation standards.
- Serve as the institutional authority on academic records, registration policies, and degree completion.
- Participate in institutional committees and initiatives related to student success, retention, and academic administration.
- Foster a culture of service excellence, ensuring students, faculty, and staff receive timely and accurate support.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Education - Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Services, Educational Leadership, or a related field required.
Experience - Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar's office or related higher education administrative role.
- Experience supervising staff and managing departmental operations.
- Experience with student information systems (SIS), preferably Banner, Colleague, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of FERPA and other compliance regulations.
- Demonstrated experience with academic policy interpretation and implementation.
Skills - Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.

Work Environment - Full-time, on-site position based in Nashville, TN.
