Control Systems Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to be based in Perth, Western Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across industrial automation, instrumentation, and control system design. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Rockwell and Schneider programming, as well as hands-on experience with instrumentation, LV design, and an aptitude for communication technologies and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and commission control systems using Rockwell and Schneider platforms.
  • Develop and review instrumentation and low-voltage (LV) electrical designs.
  • Prepare and deliver technical specifications, IO lists, functional descriptions, and detailed documentation.
  • Interface with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-quality automation solutions.
  • Contribute to and lead the development of project tenders, including scope definition, cost estimation, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, timelines, and milestones.
  • Provide support for communications systems and implement cybersecurity best practices in control system design.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and site commissioning activities.

Required Experience
  • Proven experience in PLC and SCADA development using Rockwell (RSLogix/Studio 5000) and Schneider.
  • Strong hands-on skills in instrumentation selection, integration, and LV electrical design.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus.
  • Exposure to or experience with cybersecurity practices in industrial environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within a team and with clients.
  • Experience in managing project budgets and contributing to tender development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related discipline.
