The VP of Finance/CFO will work closely with the President and executive leadership team of a 100-year old privately held organization with plans for diversifying its business portfolio. This person will handle all money matters including creating budgets, managing bank relationships, developing plans for company investments, and structuring deals. They will also oversee the company's technology/systems while making sure the business has proper insurance coverage for risk mitigation.
Beyond financial duties, the VP will build strong teams by hiring and/or leading high-performing teams, training staff, and helping them advance in their careers. They will (must) create a workplace where people feel engaged, work efficiently, and stay motivated. As a member of the executive leadership team, you will collaborate with other leaders to solve company problems, find new growth opportunities, and ensure customers and key stakeholders receive excellent service. This role needs someone with solid finance background (M&A, investment management, deal structuring) and strong people skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute financial strategies that support company growth, profitability, and capital efficiency
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and long-range planning processes
Manage and optimize companies’ capital structure to support profitable growth, expansion and diversification
Optimize resource allocation by identifying investments and growth opportunities
Capital Access & Debt Financing Relationships:
Manage and cultivate relationships with banks, financial institutions, private lenders and other capital sources
Oversee debt management and covenant compliance, negotiating favorable credit terms and capital facilities
Manage compliance with all loan agreements, reporting requirements and proactively manage credit facilities and renewals
Evaluate and implement innovative financial products to support operational and strategic initiatives
Financial Operations & Risk Management
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and applicable company specific standards.
Lead accounting operations including AR, AP, GL, cash management and tax planning.
Develop financial KPIs and dashboards for reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Manage risk exposure through insurance, compliance, and internal controls.
Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel and tax advisors.
IT & Technology Oversight
Lead strategic direction of IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals
Oversee implementation and maintenance of ERP, CRM, AI and dealership management systems
Evaluate and invest in technology that enhances efficiency, customer service, and data security
Collaborate with IT leadership to assess infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation projects
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, MBA, or CPA preferred.
Proven experience as CFO or senior financial leader in a capital-intensive industry.
Demonstrated success in accessing capital, managing banking relationships, treasury and cash management, and negotiating complex financial instruments.
Proven M&A experience including valuation, due diligence and deal structuring.
Demonstrated leadership of IT functions and enterprise systems.
Solid knowledge of insurance products, claims processes, and risk management strategies.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
